Terms and Conditions
Develop Your Dog – Terms & Conditions
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before booking. By placing a booking with Develop Your Dog, you are confirming that you have read, understood, and accepted them.
1. Contract of Sale
Completion of the booking process and acceptance of these terms form a binding agreement between you and Develop Your Dog. This contract represents the full and complete understanding between both parties.
2. Payment Terms
All courses, pre-assessments, and assessments must be paid for in advance. We accept payment by BACS, PayPal, or credit/debit card via Stripe.
Bookings are only confirmed once full payment has been received. If payment is not made on time, your booking will be cancelled automatically.
3. One-to-One Session Cancellations & Rescheduling
Policy Overview
We appreciate that life happens, but as a small business, late cancellations and no-shows make a big impact. Our policy aims to keep things fair for everyone.
Cancellation Notice
Please give at least 5 working days’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. This allows us to offer your slot to someone else.
Late Cancellations (Less than 5 days)
Unfortunately, cancellations within 5 working days are non-refundable. Your slot has been held for you, and it’s often too late to fill at short notice.
No-Shows
If you miss your session without contacting us beforehand, the full fee is payable and non-refundable.
Rescheduling
Rescheduling with less than 5 days’ notice may result in the session fee being forfeited, as per the cancellation policy.
Packages
If you’ve booked a package of sessions (2, 3, 5, or 10), any missed or late-cancelled session will be deducted from your package.
How to Cancel or Reschedule
Get in touch via:
-
Phone: 07901 651 663
-
Email: jill@developyourdog.co.uk
Please leave your name, your dog’s name, and appointment details if you reach voicemail.
Discretionary Exceptions
We understand that life can throw curveballs. In exceptional circumstances — especially if we’re able to refill your spot — we may choose to reschedule or refund despite late notice.
4. Injured Dogs and Bitches in Season
Please don’t bring sick or injured dogs, or bitches in season, to class. You’re still welcome to attend without your dog — you’ll still learn loads!
5. Course Changes & Cancellations
We reserve the right to make changes to course details (timing, date, venue, content, tutors) and to cancel courses if needed. If we cancel a course, you’ll be offered a full refund or a place on a future course. We are not liable for any related losses or expenses.
6. Intellectual Property
Course materials remain the property of Develop Your Dog. Where materials belong to The Gundog Trust, this will be clearly stated during the course.
Course content is for your personal use only — please don’t copy, record, or distribute without our permission.
7. Data Protection
All personal information is processed in line with the Data Protection Act 2018. Your data is used to manage your booking and let you know about future courses (unless you ask us not to). Your information may be stored securely on computer systems.
8. Responsibility for Dogs
You are responsible for your dog’s welfare at all times. Please don’t leave dogs unattended in vehicles — we can’t accept responsibility for any harm that may occur.
9. Group Classes – Code of Conduct
To make sure everyone enjoys class, please follow these guidelines:
-
Keep your dog on a lead unless instructed otherwise.
-
Don’t allow your dog to approach others – not all dogs appreciate surprise greetings.
-
If your dog is fearful or aggressive, contact us before enrolling. One-to-one sessions are a better starting point.
-
We may ask you to leave (without a refund) if a dog’s behaviour puts others at risk.
-
Please toilet your dog before class and clean up after them.
-
All dogs must be fully vaccinated.
-
Harsh handling is not tolerated. If it continues after a warning, we will ask you to leave without a refund.
-
Children are welcome but must be supervised by an adult if under 18.
-
You are responsible for your dog and anyone you bring with you.
10. One-to-Ones – Additional Notes
If you’re running late, please let us know. We may still be able to run your session, but it may not be extended beyond your booked time.
11. Client Responsibility & Legal Disclosure
By engaging the services of Develop Your Dog, the Client agrees that all information provided regarding their dog’s behaviour, history, and any relevant circumstances is truthful, accurate, and complete to the best of their knowledge.
The Client acknowledges that withholding, misrepresenting, or failing to disclose important details — such as prior incidents of aggression, medical conditions, or behavioural concerns — may pose a significant risk to the safety of the practitioner, the Client, the dog, and others involved.
Under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, all animal owners and keepers have a legal duty of care to ensure the welfare of their animals and to prevent harm to others. In the case of dogs, the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 and related legislation impose further responsibilities to prevent a dog from being dangerously out of control.
Failure to provide full and honest disclosure may result in the immediate termination of services without refund. Develop Your Dog shall not be held liable for any consequences arising from such omissions. The Client accepts full responsibility for any legal repercussions resulting from undisclosed behavioural issues or other relevant factors.
12. Media & Marketing
We may take photos or videos for use on social media, marketing, or as part of the training session. If you prefer not to be included, please let us know at the start of the event.
13. Updates to Terms
Develop Your Dog reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. By accessing our website or booking with us, you agree to the current version of our Terms and Conditions.
